About Sugar & Swaddle Doula

I’m a wife, a mom of two, and a NICU warrior — and above all, a woman who understands how vulnerable the journey into motherhood can be. My experiences through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum shaped not only my family, but my calling. Each stage requires a different kind of support, yet too often that support is missing — not because people don’t care, but because they don’t know. There is a real lack of education and awareness around how tender and life-altering these moments are.
Motherhood taught me something simple and powerful: at the end of everything, we are literally just a girl doing her best — in need of support, love, and grace. As a Christian, my faith guides the way I show up for others. I believe in meeting mothers and birthing people where they are, offering compassionate, judgment-free support through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and beyond.
Today, I’m dedicated to education, advocacy, and being the steady support I once needed — especially for those who can’t yet find the words to ask for help.
You don’t have to do this alone. If you’re navigating pregnancy, postpartum, or motherhood and feeling overwhelmed or unseen, I’m here. Reach out to book a consult or learn how I can support you.
You deserve care, understanding, and grace — exactly as you are.
About My Education & Experience
Certified Birth & Postpartum Doula — National Black Doula Association (2025)
I’m a certified birth and postpartum doula trained in culturally competent, evidence-based, and client-centered care. My work is grounded in advocacy, informed choice, emotional support, and hands-on comfort through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.
Lactation Support Training — Loyal Lactation & Straight From The Tap (2024)
I provide foundational breastfeeding and chestfeeding support, including latch basics, feeding cues, and early challenges, while helping families know when to seek additional lactation care.
Infant Care Foundations Training — Akron Children’s Hospital NICU (2022)
My NICU-based training strengthened my knowledge of newborn care, safety, feeding, soothing, sleep, and normal newborn behaviors—especially during the early postpartum transition.
Rebozo Training — Doula Support (2022)
I am trained in using rebozo techniques to support comfort, relaxation, positioning, and gentle physical relief during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum.
